What to know
Small fixes for big complaints
Most bottle complaints are lid and cleaning problems. A brush set and a spare lid fix both for under $20, which is less than any bottle on our list.
A starter kit for about $26
If you buy only three things, make them the brush set and the spare straw lid, plus a pack of cleaning tablets. Together they cost about $26, and between the brushes for the channels, the second lid for drying and the tablets for smell, they take care of most of the reasons people give up on a perfectly good bottle. Start there.
Fit first
Check base width, mouth width and brand before you order. The third-party straw lid we track names Hydro Flask and Takeya wide mouths, and the paracord handle is sized for Iron Flask wide mouths. A part that almost fits is the one that leaks.
Buy by problem
Mold calls for brushes, tablets and a spare lid. Noise and dents call for a boot. The car calls for an expander, warm water for ice sticks, and lost bottles for name labels.
Two prices we hide
The Owala boot and the Iron Flask handle showed prices with no decimal point. Rather than guess, we show no price for them. Check the listing for today's number.
What to skip
Skip any accessory with no listed size range, and skip universal lids that do not name the bottles they fit.
The accessories, one by one
Start with these three

Fit check: Make sure the set includes a straw brush.

Bottle Bright tablets fizz in warm water and lift coffee and tea stains. The listing says they are free of bleach and chlorine and made in the USA, and one or two in a bowl will soak a pile of lids and straws at once.
